Let’s get to know Salun. This ever growing person is proud of/that/for:

Being in a company he admires.

To be able to be a part of an organization that gives him opportunities to grow, where the people are wonderful, he can work remotely, live where he wants, and where he feels like he belongs is a dream come true, and every he counts it as a blessing.

Creating a restaurant ticketing app.

You know when you’re in a restaurant and the server takes your order on a device? Well, Salun created an app for that! It’s called Comanda Smart and has been in service in Brazil since 2016, with ever-evolving versions coming out since then. The whole beautiful thing about this is that Salun is all self-taught, with everything he knows is basically what he studied and taught himself. Education can come in many forms and a formal education doesn’t necessarily mean success; just something to keep in mind.

Co-building the largest drumming website in Latin America.

Salun has always been a big fan of music and all its intricacies. So, when his friend reached out in 2008 and asked him to join in on collaborating on building the next version of his drumming website, and Salun took the offer. In 2010, version 2 came out, and then in 2015, they started from scratch again, just finishing the entire website last year. Bringing drummers and musicians together from all over Latin America is no small feat, and if you’d like to see what he’s been up to, go check it out here

Building a house with his wife.

Room by room, piece by piece, learning how to do things as they go. Finding creative ways to get things built, and gaining so many skill sets along the way: carpenter, plumber, interior designer – you name it, it’s probably happening. What an adventure that is!

Moving to another city and completely starting from scratch.

Have you ever wanted to change your life, and you know that in order to do that, you have to make one (or many) big decisions? Enter Salun and his wife: they knew that it was time for life to be different, and took some pretty big actions to make it a reality. For them, it looked like selling everything they could (and that means everything), from their car to their furniture, plus anything and everything not essential to basic living to fund this move was sold to make way for the new life they sought. And off they went! Moving to a new city, with no friends, no family, no jobs, no car, and nothing to sleep on but an air mattress, they made their way. Luckily it didn’t take long: within 2 days they both had jobs! Taking the risk paid off (literally), and their new life was born. When you know it’s time for a change, it’s time. It doesn’t always mean it will be an easy decision but one way or another, if you’re blessed, you’re waking up the next day. The choice is yours whether you make your life the beautiful adventure that it’s meant to be, or not.

Golden nugget: A life-changing key to life is to always see the bright side of things. Even in difficulties lie silver linings.
